This stage closes the crossing of the Northern Vosges and allows to enjoy the unique atmosphere of this massive out of the ordinary!
Last crossing of the Northern Vosges mountain bike, this crossing allows you to reach Saverne from Dossenheim-sur-Zinsel. On the program: sandstone rocks, forests and unforgettable views of the plain of Alsace from Mont-Saint-Michel. This trail also crosses many interesting archaeological sites!

Description

From the parking, go to the campsite then turn left.

Ascent in laces cutting the GR®531 4 times. On a mountainside with a view of the plain and after 3 km, join the path of the Heidenstadt. Head left to Langenthal Cross.
Take the forest road that goes down to the left then the forest road that goes right to the chapel of Mont-St-Michel. Take the last small path after the Club Vosgien chalet on the right. At the flat rocks, viewpoint on the plain. Stay on the gravel road and continue towards the Ladies' Rock. At the crossroads with the forest road of the Ladies, go straight. After the barrier, continue on the asphalt road and head left to cross the game bridge. Do not forget to close the gate. Follow the path on the right to the RN4. Turn right, cross the national road, turn left on the path that goes down 5 km to the Stutzbach valley.
After walking along the Marne-Rhine canal, on a descent, turn right hairpin (a small path camouflaged by vegetation) to lock 26 and follow the towpath to lock 27. At Lock 27, near Stambach, cross the canal, Zorn and D132. Cross the crossing. At the reservoir, turn left on the forest path of the SNCF to join the D171. Take it 150 m to the parking lot of the forest path.

    Saint-Michel Chapel

    It would be an ancient pagan place of worship, consisting of a circular basin called the School of Witches or Circle of Druids and a cave below called Cave of the Fairies. According to some authors, it would correspond to a Roman era shrine dedicated to Mithra.
